DIY Rose Gold Shoes from MindOverHobby.com

Finding rose gold high heels can be difficult and pricey. But for less than $15 you can make your own from a pair ordinary shoes already in your closet.

Materials:

  • High heels
  • Rose Gold Spraypaint – I got mine from Michaels Crafts
  • Glitters – Also from Michaels Crafts
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Paintbrush
  • Paper plate

Find a pair of shoes which are fairly clean. I bought these a few years ago but kept tossing them to the back of my closet for some reason.

Tape up your shoes to protect the inside of them from painting. I used painter’s tape on the soles and electrical tape on the hardware and straps.

Spray paint the shoes with white matte spraypaint. This will help the next coats of paint look very rose gold and also help them to adhere. Let dry for an hour or so.

Place shoes into a cardboard box with soles facing downward. Spray shoes with rose gold spraypaint in a light, even coat to cover shoes and bottom of shoes.  Let dry and re-coat soles and back of shoes. Wait one hour and then turn shoes over to coat the tops.

Create a mixture of mod podge gloss, glitter, and a little bit of rose gold acrylic paint. This will be used to coat the soles and platforms of the heels.

DIY Rose Gold Shoes from MindOverHobby.comWhile the mixture is still wet, sprinkle glitter onto the wet areas just coated. I did this over a paper plate to avoid getting glitter everywhere. Let dry for a few hours.
